Tomori Kusunoki is stepping down from the voice behind Setsuna Yuki from Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Club
Tomomi has been suffering from joint and muscle pain for many years. After repeated medical consultations, this joint-type condition was confirmed in September this year and is hereditary Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This condition causes fatigue and pain due to the muscles and joint tissues in the body becoming too hyperextensibility.
According to the doctor’s diagnosis, Tomori Kusunoki cannot perform strenuous activities that will overload the body, and it is necessary to reduce exercise. It made Tomomiru punishing to continue in continuous live activities, which Tomomiru, with the difficult situation, proposed to retire/graduate and end her role for Setsuna Yuki / Nana Nakagawa.
After careful consideration from the Love Live production committee, Tomomiru’s proposal was then accepted concerning Tomomiru’s medical condition.
Tomori Kusunoki will eventually end her activities with the Nijigasaki High School School Idol Club on March 31, 2023. At the same time, we would like to express our sincere apology for causing uneasiness to everyone who supports her.
In addition, regarding the smartphone application game “Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS”, the latest stories and the character voice will still be voiced by Tomori Kusunoki.
Currently, the successor seiyuu for Setsuna Yuki is in the midst of selection, and it will be revealed after the candidate is confirmed.

Along with the resignation, the official also released Tomomiru’s heart felt handwritten letter. The content was about Tomomiru being distressed about not being able to perform on the stage. She saw everyone standing on the stage with their postures very bright, cute and cool.
Tomomiru made this tough decision because she wanted to preserve this scenery. She hopes that everyone can work together to make Setsuna more scenery on the stage in the future. Tomomiru also thank the fans for their kind support no matter what the situation is.
