Heated discussion after Netizen uses AI to generate Pure Love Story drawings. To be awed or shocked?
The rapid AI progression in painting has recently become a hot controversial topic in the artists’ and doujinshi circles. The users use various keywords related to characters, styles, themes, and atmospheres on the platform or software, and then let the AI (through deep learning) create works that meet the requirements based on these specified keywords.
Some users used other artists’ images as the AI reference which plagiarized their art and art style. This posed a huge problem to the current industry and even promoted plagiarism which some artists’ had even shut down their pixiv accounts.
Below are generated images by the netizens that caused a heated discussion. Images described a girl’s life trajectory from childhood to marriage and childbirth.

Although some details were not accurate, and commonly having 6 fingers, the overall images had high degree of completion.
